Zara Wood aka WOODY
London, UNITED KINGDOM

The British born illustrator Zara Wood, also known as ‘Woody’ originally studied Fine Art and began illustrating in 2001. She has been labelled as ‘one of London’s leading illustrators’ (US Nylon Mag) and described as ‘prolific’ and ‘versatile’ (Marmalade Magazine). Her love of cardboard however remains constant. Her first show of 2007 ‘Works on Cardboard’ will be full of tiny dioramas that create complex recycled communities. “I enjoy making intricate well-crafted work in a material usually associated with packaging delicate art rather than being used to create it.” Her signature style of beautiful yet scary vignettes promises to be intriguing as well as environmentally conscious.
